DYSU Challenge # 30 - Orange, Yellow, & Brown

Hi everyone!
I seriously cannot believe it's already time for another challenge at DYSU!  I'm so sorry this post is a bit late...I returned from Tokyo yesterday and I thought I'd be able to do the post when I got home since it's much easier for me to use my own computer rather than a Japanese one, lol...but, when I got home, I slept most of the day and it completely slipped my mind...I am hoping I beat the jetlag for the most part since I just woke up at 7am...it's hard to say...the time difference is crazy...my flight left Tokyo at 5:40pm on July 27th and I arrived in Vancouver at 10:45am the SAME day!  I was lucky that I was able to get a non-stop flight...having a 4 1/2 hour lay-over in Sanfrancisco or LA would have been brutal!

Anyway, without further ado, here is our challenge for this week:

Our challenge for you this week is Wings. From angels and fairies, to butterflies and bees, to penguins and chickens... if it has wings, we want to see it!

DYSU Challenge #28 - Sew (Faux or Real)

Hello everyone, greetings from Japan!  Sorry this post is late...I miscalculated the time difference!
It's hard to believe it's already Thursday again and time for another challenge at Do You Stack Up!  This week, the challenge is to sew on your card...real or faux stitching is accepted.  I often forget to use this technique and I had so much fun doing it...I really like how my card turned out..I think the stitching added a lot of visual interest...I definitely need to use this technique more often!

Here is my card:

This week I used a fun elephant image by Robyn's Fetishes.  It just felt celebratory hence the sentiment I chose.  I also thought it'd go well with a circus theme so I used MME Animal Crackers paper and added, "admit one" ticket stubs as embellishments which gave it a circus-y feel.

This week's Sponsors:

Mami Doodles: 4 Digital Images

Robyn's Fetish: The winner’s choice of EITHER 5 digital stamps OR 4 digital stamps and 1 paper pack

Special Appearance
This week we are excited to have one of the Robyn's Fetish Design Team members playing along with us! Please welcome Jeanette Waters of H2O Creations:

Now get inspired by the rest of the Design Team!

We have some amazing prizes this week:

The following three prizes will be drawn at random:

The following prize package by My Mind's Eye:

Copic Marker Scrapbooking:
Six Copic Ciao markers (North/South America), Martha Stewart Punch (rest of the world)

Lili of the Valley:
Gift Voucher

The Top Three (hand-picked) will receive 2 single images by Stretch N Bubbles

One of the Top Three will be chosen to be a Guest Designer for a future Challenge!

Here is my card using, "Dad's the Word", by Lili of the Valley:

I coloured the image with Copic markers and framed it with a chipboard piece.  I was trying to make this card masculine so, I added some accessories made of natural materials: burlap, wooden buttons, and hemp twine.  I had a lot of, "firsts", with this card...it's my first card for a Design Team, first time using chipboard, and first time using burlap!  I am pretty happy with how it turned out...

Well, I hope you come and play along with us at DYSU this week!

Hugs,
Naomi
