DYSU #65 - Stitch It!

Hello everyone and welcome to a new challenge at DYSU!
This week, we'd like to see you stitch on your cards!
Whether it's real stitching or faux stitching, either will do!

This week we have three sponsors:
$10 Gift Voucher

$15 Gift Certificate

Winner's Choice of 4 Images

Here is what I came up with:
I got to use this cute digital image from Michelle's Scrapbooking called I'm Not Ready.  I coloured it up with Copics (Y13, Y15, Y17, Y21, Y23, Y26, Y32, Y35, Y38, BG0000, BG10, BG11, BG13, YR14, YR16, YR18, YG93, YG95, YG97, YG99, E23, E27, E29, E40, E41, E42) and sponged it with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Pumice Stone.  I used a doily, from Wilton, to mat the main image.  All of the papers are from the MME Follow Your Heart Be Amazing 6x6 paper pad and although it's not that easy to see in the photo, I stitched the two background papers together using my Janome Sew Mini and white upholstery thread from Gutermann.  To top it off, I added a seam binding bow and a Vintage Button in Aqua Mist from Papertrey Ink.  The sentiment, which is from the Spring is Sprung Stamp Set from Flourishes, was stamped in SU! Classic ink in Basic Grey and the Flatback Pearls (5mm & 2mm, white) are from Pizzazz Aplenty.

Anyway, I hope you like my spring-y card!
Now it's time for you to head on over to DYSU to see what the rest of the DT cooked up!
I look forward to seeing all of your wonderful projects!

Happy Stamping!

Sitting Cute with TGF!

Hello, my friends!
Today, I have a cute springtime card to share with you!

Since Spring has arrived, the air is warmer and the sun has been showing it's face, lately, in the Vancouver area.  That being said, I was in the mood to make something bright & cheery!

Here it is:
As some of you know, I once lived in Japan teaching English and still have some friends who I've kept in touch with all of these years.  Last summer, I went to Japan for nearly a month to visit old friends and do some sight-seeing that I never got to do while I lived there!  I stayed with my dear friend, Aya, that entire time and this card is for her!  She came out to visit me back in 2005, soon after I had moved back to Canada from Japan....and you never know, but, MAYBE (fingers crossed), this card will inspire her to visit me in Vancouver again!  It truly is an AMAZING city in a STUNNING province and there is still SO much that I have to show her!

Anyway, onto how I made the card....
It is pretty straight-forward but, I used the gal from The Greeting Farm's new Sitting Cute set which I coloured with Copics (Y21, Y23, Y26, E50, E51, E53, R00, R02, R24, R27, R29, B95, B97, B99).  The bench, which I paper-pieced with woodgrained patterned paper, is from Sitting Lovely!  I created a scene using Spellbinders Labels 17, Spellbinders Classic Circles, and the MFT Die-namics Fresh Cut Grass Die.  All of the patterned papers are from the MME On The Bright Side ONE 6x6 paper pad.  After assembling everything, I mounted it all on a card base cut from PTI Rustic White cardstock and I added a seam binding bow and fastened a button and tag (Spellbinders Tags Trio, sponged with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Crushed Olive) using some baker's twine in Maraschino from The Twinery.  The sentiment, from Flourishes Windows to the World, was originally one line but, to make it fit, I selectively inked it with SU! Classic Ink in Poppy Parade and stamped it in two lines instead.

Well, thank you SO much for stopping by....
I hope you enjoyed your stay!

Happy Stamping!
Naomi

A Spring Challenge at Paper and Such!

Hello everyone!
Welcome to another bi-weekly challenge at Paper and Such!
This time around, we would like to see you create a project with an Easter or Spring theme.

Here's what I came up with:
I used the new Sweet Chickie Digital stamp set from Paper and Such which comes with 3 ADORABLE sentiments and sells for a mere $3!  I coloured it up with Copic Markers (Y21, Y23, Y26, Y32, Y35, Y38, E40, E41, E42, E50, E51, E53, R12, R14, R17, R30, G20, G21, G24, W0, W2) and cut it out using Spellbinders Petite Ovals and sponged it with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Wild Honey.  I then matted it with Spellbinders Labels 10.  The papers are from MME Miss Caroline Howdy Doody 6x6 paper pad.  I stitched the different pieces of paper together using my Janome Sew Mini.  I printed out one of the three sweet sentiments that came with the Sweet Chickie Digital stamp set (don't you just LOVE it?) and cut it out using Spellbinders Ribbon Banners.  Last, I added some 5mm White Flatback Pearls from Pizzazz Aplenty and some bling flourishes from Recollections (Michaels).

Of course, there is also a prize up for grabs for one lucky winner:

Anyway, I hope you'll join us over that the Paper and Such Design Blog for more inspiration from the rest of the design team and also to link up your creation!
I can't wait to see all of your FABULOUS entries!
